Biodiversity loss
The decline of living diversity at every level: species extinctions, population collapses, loss of genetic diversity and ecosystem degradation. IPBES (2019) estimates that around one million species are threatened with extinction and identifies five direct drivers: land- and sea-use change, direct exploitation of organisms, climate change, pollution and invasive alien species.
