Net zero
State in which anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions are balanced by anthropogenic removals over a given period. For a company, SBTi’s Corporate Net-Zero Standard understands it as deep emission cuts across all scopes aligned with 1.5 °C, followed by neutralisation of residual emissions only through durable removals. Credits do not replace reductions.
