EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme)
A voluntary EU environmental management scheme established by Regulation (EC) No 1221/2009. It incorporates the requirements of ISO 14001 and adds a public environmental statement validated by an accredited verifier, plus registration with a competent body. It attests to a management approach, not to the environmental performance of a product.
