CO₂ equivalent (CO₂e)
Common unit expressing the effect of different greenhouse gases as the amount of CO₂ that would cause the same radiative forcing over a given period. Conversion uses the global warming potential (GWP), usually over 100 years, published by the IPCC. Emission inventories are reported in tonnes of CO₂e (tCO₂e).
